DENMARK'S SWIMMIMG STAR

Lotte Friis is one of the best swimmers both in Denmark and internationally and during the last couple of years she has delivered impressive results. She had her major international breakthrough in 2008, when she won bronze at the Olympics in Beijing. In 2009 Lotte Friis continued delivering great results by winning the gold medal at the World Championship in 800 m freestyle.

The first Danish world record in several decades

The 28th of November 2009 Lotte Friis achieved a world record in 1500 meter freestyle. But it is not the only Danish record that she has achieved. Lotte Friis also won the world championship in 800 m freestyle. It is the first Danish long course gold medal ever.
