PETER SCHMEICHEL - A POPULAR TV PRESENTER
In 2006 Peter Schmeichel started cooperation with channel TV3, which within shortly turned him in to most popular TV presenter on the channel. It all started with Champions League in football, Peter Schmeichel in the host chair and a massive rise in viewers. Soon the rise in audience ratings spread to other programs with the former goal keeper as a central figure.
FORT BOYARD
Saturday the 21th of August 2009 between eight and nine o'clock in the evening, TV3 became the most popular TV channel - and thereby surpassed DR, the competitive channel, with 100.000 viewers. This day TV3 started a new version of the popular game-show, Fort Boyard, presented by the hosts, Camilla Ottesen and Peter Schmeichel. An average of more than 545.000 viewers watched the premiere on TV3. When the number of viewers peaked, more than 639.000 Danes watched the show. All together it resulted in a rating of 19 and a share of 58.
"We are proud that we attracted so many Danes to watch Fort Boyard on TV3. The premiere surpasses to a great extent our expectations, and we can thank the hosts, the participants and the production company, Mastiff A/S, for the positive reaction of the viewers. They have created a unique TV show", said TV3's program manager, Morten Mogensen. Additionally, the rerun of the show resulted in around 200.000 viewers.
DIRTY JOBS
Also ‘Dirty Jobs' with the former goal keeper as a presenter doubled the channel's audience ratings. The show achieved a share of 5,3 percent among the male viewers in the age between 18-50. This is an increase of 140 percent compared to the normal level at this time-slot.
Statistics also show that the rerun of the show the 11th of May 2008 became, until now, the most watched show on Discovery Channel in the target group 3+. The show was broadcasted in 60 countries all over the world.
